On the 3rd day of Teknofest 2021 and my 2nd day in the festival, flights got suspended due to weather conditions. This was very disappointing to me, as it was my main purpose coming here. But then the received news swept away my disappointment – instead, I was granted a special opportunity to shoot Turkish Stars and Azerbaijan’s MiG-29 fight jets from close up on the ground. The cancelation of the flights schedule, meant no ground operations were held, so created a comfortable and stress-free atmosphere for shooting. Getting a physical access and getting such close to these jets is a rare experience one can get. It was my first and the real experience with F-16 fight jets. Being allowed to have sit in a fight jet was a hard to describe feeling. In short – I photographed and have been photographed by others – these both rarely happen together. Especially on par with airplanes – it happens even rarer.
