This year, Teknofest 2021 is being held in Istanbul again, and for the first time, Azerbaijan is participating in the festival.
Especially when it comes to Ataturk Airport, being here gives me a pleasant and nostalgic feeling. In the past time I had most of my flights from this airport. I wish it hadn’t been closed for the regular commercial flights and continued to serve together with other two.
My main interest at the festival were airplanes and air shows, so sharing photos of those events. The air show, which started at first with Turkish Stars, then continued with Solo Turk. While shooting the planes flying, I realized an unusual scene – people watching from the balcony of the control tower. It’s not a common thing to see people standing at these towers.
Then the Azerbaijani MIG-29 flew on the skies of Istanbul, attracting the attention of the audience. Later, as its name suggests, the bird-like Turkish Hurkush plane appeared and got remembered for its slightly funny appearance. Though I mostly anticipated Turkish Stars, unexpectedly my favorite show became Solo Turk.
