European Short Course Swimming Championships – Lublin, 2025

Another outstanding swimming competition took place in Lublin, Poland, at the Aqua Lublin venue. Sportlens was invited by Poland.Travel and the Ministry of Sports and Tourism of Poland, as one of the reportage winners who covered the Short Course Swimming World Championships in Budapest in 2024.

The competition schedule was intense, matched with the energy and excitement of both athletes and fans. The event was marked by a remarkable number of record-breaking performances.

Marrit Steenbergen (NED) dominated the championships, winning the highest number of individual gold medals. She won 4 individual Gold and 2 with team victories. In each of her four first-place finishes, she also set new European Championships records. In total, Steenbergen collected 8 medals throughout the event.

She was followed by Sara Curtis (ITA), who claimed 2 individual gold medals and reached a total of 7 podium finishes, including team events.

The top three countries in the medal standings were Italy, the Netherlands, and Great Britain, with 20, 13, and 11 medals respectively.

The European Aquatics Short Course Championships were held on 2-7 December, and Aqua Lublin will continue to host the EA Swimming Short Course Masters during 10-14 December.
